How can we fulfill our God-given destiny? Today's guest shares insights on how to discover and live in the fullness of our divine calling.

Dr. Jamie Morgan is an ordained minister, conference speaker, podcaster, TV show host, author, and mentor. She has published four books and writes for Charisma and other publications around the world. Her podcast, Fire Starter on the Charisma Podcast Network, is rated in the top 1% of podcasts globally. She is the founder of Trailblazer Mentoring Network, a mentoring movement for women in ministry. She is also the founder of the intercessory ministry, United States Prays, which mobilizes the remnant of our nation to cry out to God for revival.

Dr. Morgan recounts how she struggled to discern her purpose and asked God to help her to discover her destiny. Even as a newer believer, people were drawn to her when seeking their calling. She notes how this journey led her to her current ministry and the recent book she released, Her Calling: A Woman's Guide to Fulfillilng Her God-Given Destiny.

Jamie notes that our purpose can be bigger than a single role or career. She states that our lives consist of seasons and it is important to recognize the season we're in. Dr. Morgan advises us to ask God to reveal how we can serve where we are now.

Jamie explains shifts occur in our calling. Sometimes you sense the grace lifting off of one role and descending onto another. We don't want to do something just because we've always done it. Be open to new direction.

For those unable to see their purpose, Dr. Morgan offers the following tips:

  • Begin by keeping your focus on the Lord.
  • Rip off the rearview mirror and step into the new.
  • Seek the Lord's will and you will find it.
  • Start by serving.
  • Look for lessons learned in volunteer work, even in those roles that do not turn out to be your calling.

We discuss the greater significance of being, as opposed to merely doing. God forges our character. Jamie states that preparation is not lost time. God has a purpose for you in the waiting room.

Jamie shares her testimony of transformation as a living example of how God can use anyone.

We discuss the pursuit of our calling as a journey, more than a destination.

Dr. Morgan offers the following insights to guide listeners on their pursuit of destiny:

  • Forget the past.
  • Press into God in prayer.
  • If you're on this earth, you have a purpose.
  • Ask who God wants you to serve.
  • Ask where you're meant to serve.
  • Discover what you need to do to prepare for your calling.
  • Start serving in your local church. Ask your pastor about the needs and available service opportunities.
  • Consider what you love to do as a possible clue to your destiny. If money were no object, what would you do?
  • Consider what upsets or grieves you as a potential clue to your destiny.
  • Note your spiritual gifts.
  • Consider your personal experiences and testimony as possible clues to your calling.

We discuss overcoming shame and the feeling of unworthiness.

Dr. Morgan encourages us to serve as if we're serving Jesus, no matter how small or unpleasant our roles might seem. Refuse to get discouraged by the scope of your current reach in ministry or service. Allow the Lord to refine your attitude until you're truly willing to do anything for Jesus.

Jamie assures you that God has a plan for your life. It's never to late with Jesus. We are all works in progress. Jesus pours His Spirit through our cracked clay pots and works miracles.
