Brittany Ann shares the following insights to help us discern the best choices:

  • Scripture shares some clear guidelines for living within God's will, but does not always show the exact answer to all of our decisions.
  • Examine whether or not the decision aligns with loving God and loving others.
  • Consider how well the course of action fits in with your spiritual gifts and experience.
  • Avoid letting fear of making a mistake paralyze you.
  • The Lord can redeem our failures.
  • God is not thrown off by our shortcomings or mistakes.
  • Use what you have in your current situation to serve the Lord.
  • Rather than mapping an entire journey, we follow God's will one step at a time. Take the next best step.
  • We rarely know all the steps ahead or even the full scope of our destination.

We discuss the following components of navigating the course of our lives with wisdom and faith:

  • Remember that convicting others is the Holy Spirit's job and we are not responsible for forcing behavior changes in others. We share in love what the Lord guides us to share, but other people remain responsible for their choices. 
  • God's will is not always one big decision.
  • Looming tasks are less critical to our purpose than how we treat others.
  • Choose God's best by refusing to commit to the good things to which God does not call us that could burden our schedule.
  • Spend more time with God in prayer and studying Scripture so you can discern his voice when seeking his guidance.
